Context

Unified global locator with admin data control

The project aimed to simplify, standardize and optimize the customer experience in finding the nearest purchasing location for PPG products by developing a unified Global Locator Application. It also included a UI for admin users to manage location data based on their permission scope.

Problem

What made it genuinely hard was the conditions around the work, each of which shaped how I designed

Stakeholders were the primary source of truth, so I had to translate input carefully, separating firm requirements from assumptions and validating decisions through close collaboration rather than direct user research.

Complex data needed to remain scannable across all screen sizes, ensuring consistency and readability without losing critical information.

Alignment required close collaboration across product, design and engineering to align on complex information architecture and interconnected user flows.

My role

Ownership, contribution and cross-functional collaboration

I owned: End-to-end design of a key localization feature ensuring it met regional and business requirements.

I contributed to: Enhancing the admin panel with new features and improving responsive behavior across existing components within the shared design system.

I partnered with: Lead designers on design direction and reviews, and worked closely with product managers, business analysts, solution architects, developers, and QA to align requirements, validate solutions, and support implementation.


My Approach

Reducing complexity through structure and collaboration

  1. I audited existing locator experiences and defined reusable interaction patterns for search, filtering, map interactions and store details, documenting them to ensure consistency across customer and admin flows.

  2. As requirements evolved with changing business priorities and needs, I iterated on flows through regular stakeholder reviews, balancing new inputs with the established interaction patterns.

  3. I integrated a late-added localization feature into admin panel forms by aligning it with the existing information architecture to maintain consistency and avoid disrupting existing workflows.

Outcome

End-to-End Flow Delivery and Iterative Validation at Scale

Delivered 15 end-to-end user flows across 75–150 screens, covering both the consumer-facing store locator and the admin location management surface. Designs were validated in staging environments through close QA collaboration, catching edge cases before release and reducing post-development rework. Worked directly with product owners and developers across 5 months to resolve technical constraints early, keeping core flows intact through to delivery.
