Context
Automating succession process through structured candidate comparison
The Matching Advisor streamlines candidate selection by providing managers with a comprehensive comparative analysis of candidates. The main objective was to automate the existing process and enable faster, data-driven decision-making.
Problem
Core product challenges
• Managers relied on fragmented workflows and manual steps, making decision-making slow and difficult to scale.
• Complex candidate data had to be organized into a clear, scannable, and easy-to-digest interface.
• The experience needed to minimize clicks and cognitive effort while supporting fast, confident decisions.
Approach
How the solution was shaped
Starting from clarified business requirements, I translated complex product logic into simple user journeys, breaking the problem into smaller interaction patterns before designing complete flows. Throughout the process, concepts were validated through regular demos and stakeholder feedback, shaping each iteration before moving into final UI.

Decisions
Designing for how managers actually think
• Three-tier structure: Matched managers' existing mental model, closest candidates first, expanding outward.
• Scannable match score: Used a circular progress indicator instead of numeric values to make candidate fit immediately readable across card-based comparisons.
• Inline comparison flow: Enabled one-click candidate selection, allowing comparison to build progressively without requiring a separate flow.
Outcome
From manual search to structured decision-making
The delivered design gave managers a single, structured panel inside Delivery Central that went from zero candidate visibility to a fully scored, tiered and comparable candidate list. The feature collapsed a previously manual, fragmented process into one data-driven view with match scores, inline comparison and in-tool communication.
